Congrats to Chase on a very strong 2nd round today, 1-over 73, to move up and take 4th place at the Alabama 1A – 2A high school state tournament. Chase is a junior this year. Great job!!

May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month

The month of May is skin cancer awareness month. We are doing our best to educate and protect our junior golfers so they can avoid what coach is now experiencing with the damage done as a child. Parents, skin cancer is and has skyrocketed amongst our youth so do everything possible to protect. Juniors, I know you do not like the feel of sunscreen but it is a small price to pay to avoid the knife. Five cuts in three weeks and on a two month regiment to assure early detection.

Kevin and Brian Finish 1st and 3rd at Medicus Cup

Congrats to Kevin and Brian finishing 1st and 3rd at the Medicus Cup Tiour Championship in the boys 12-13 age division. With a +8 start in his first 10 holes, Brian played his last 26 holes at 3-over par. Kevin posted the only under par round of the tournament with a solid 1-under 71 on the last day to take home the winners trophy. The most impressive stat for Kevin was that he shot 9-over on his 1st round opening 9. He then battled back with a 4-under par 32 on the back 9 and played his last 27 holes at 5-under par. Great job boys!

Chandler (Boo) Wins Medicus Cup 10-11 Age Group

Congrats to Chandler on his Medicus Cup Championship victory the the 10-11 age division. After playing up in several tournaments (12-13 age group) we moved Chandler back down to compete in his age group and he responded. Great job Boo and you have a great golf future ahead of you.

Blake Wins Medicus Cup 8-9 Division

Blake, 8 years old, dominated the Medicus Cup Championship 8-9 year old age division with a 22 stroke victory. Great job Blake!

Kaide Leads Destin to County Championship

Congrats to Kaide on leading her Destin Middle School golf team to the county championship. Being only a 6th grader, Kaide is well placed to be one of the favorites over the next two years for the individual title.

Sarah takes 2nd Place in County Championship

This same time last year Sarah shot 60 at the middle school county championships. In the summer Sarah joined our Player Development Program and with a focused and meticulous work ethic, shot 41 to take home the 2nd place trophy. Great job Sarah and congratulations!

Tyler Finishes 2nd in County

With an even par 36 and 2nd place finish, Tyler finished one of the best middle school golf careers in the area. With three first team all-county awards, two 2nd place finishes and a top 5, Tyler closes this chapter of his golf and now looks forward to what high school has in store. Great job “T”.

Brock Repeats as County Champion

With a 3-under par round of 33, Brock repeated as county champion. It all culminated on his final hole as he striped his 3-wood, 270 yards, to 20 feet. Though he missed the eagle putt, his birdie ended one of the best, if not the best, middle school golf careers. Congrats “B”!

Patrick Leads Ruckel Boys to 2nd Place Finish

With a 1-over par 37, Patrick lead his Ruckel Middle School boys golf team to a 2nd place finish at county championships. Patrick’s score also placed him 4th in the individual overall. Only a 7th grader, Patrick will be an early favorite to win county next season. Congrats Patrick, Heath and the rest of the Ruckel team!
